Overall, the people I have come into contact at LHCC are great at their jobs. You can tell they love caring for others and are in the field for the right reasons.
Two down sides:
This nursing home killed my grandmother! They didn't take care of her the way they we're supposed to.
The activities director works hard in finding new things for us to do. From painting to recreational games, we always have something fun scheduled.
The physical and occupational therapy teams are fantastic! They are great at motivating, educating, and rehabilitating.
The staff from top to bottom are great! Everyone was so caring and friendly. The aides, therapists, nurses, and housekeepers are the best you could ask for. I had 5 broken bones and only one functional limb when I was admitted. The staff did their best to handle me gently and still provide good care and I left in 6 weeks with 3 1/2 functional limbs. I was made to feel like family and made many new friends that I miss seeing since I live in Texas and can't visit frequently.
1. the aides are understaffed and over-worked
We have a nice dining area to eat and to make new friends. The kitchen staff is wonderful and they make the best food!
Even with the above down sides, I had a very successful stay and wish to thank everyone involved in my care for your special touch. Happy New Year to you all!!
Our nurses and CNAs are great! The nurses will explain anything you have a question with and our CNAs keep us clean, comfortable, and happy 24/7.
Under staffed in nursing department.
The facility is always clean. The housekeepers treat you like family and go above and beyond to meet resident needs.
2. the food was atrocious.
When you walk in the door, you are greeted with a smile and the staff is very friendly.
The best point to me is that the administrator's door is always open. If you need to talk, he is there to listen!
This started out as a great place for rehab for my mother and then for long term care. With changes in admin and staff, the warm welcoming atmosphere is no longer here. I find more frustrations with barely adequate staffing, working what staff they have to exhaustion. The nursing staff is for the most part good. An activity department that has been inconsistent, however that activity director just quit. The kitchen does provide good nutritious meals and is friendly. I am sad that this facility has changed from the wonderful place it started out to be to a facility that is just barely doing what it needs to pass inspection.
